The Wheatsheaf Edith Weston
Our Story
A pub with history
The Wheatsheaf has stood at the heart of Edith Weston for well over a century. Nestled in one of Rutland's most picturesque villages on the southern shore of Rutland Water, it has long been a gathering place for locals, walkers, cyclists, sailors, fishermen, and visitors drawn to the beauty of England's smallest county.
Over the years the pub has been lovingly restored, preserving its original character — the low beams, the open fire — while adding the warmth and quality that today's guests expect. The bar still pours a proper pint, and the kitchen still turns out the kind of honest, hearty food that keeps people coming back.
What we stand for
Local first
We source our produce from Rutland and the East Midlands wherever we can — from the farm down the road, to Everards family owned brewery in Leicester.
Proper hospitality
No fuss, no pretension. Just a genuine welcome, a comfortable seat, and food and drink worth travelling for.
Part of the community
We host village events, support local causes, and keep the kind of pub that Edith Weston deserves.
Come and see for yourself
Whether it's a midweek lunch, a Sunday roast with the family, or a celebratory dinner — we'd love to have you.
